Privacy
Browsing
You don't need an account to use Soul Haul, and it sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your saved souls and theme choice are kept in your browser's local storage and are never sent to Soul Haul.
Reports and submissions
When you use the report or submit forms, Soul Haul stores what you type and, if you give one, your email address so a reviewer can reply. Your IP address isn't stored; a one-way salted hash of it is kept with the entry to limit how many reports or submissions one visitor can send per hour.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to The daily 5, Soul Haul stores your email address and when you confirmed, and sends the daily email through an email delivery provider. Nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe; after you unsubscribe, no more emails are sent.
Indexed files
Soul Haul only indexes publicly reachable files. API keys, tokens and email addresses found in files are removed before anything is stored. File text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to write titles and summaries. Authors can ask for any file to be removed with the takedown form.
Site operators
The review area uses a sign-in cookie for site operators only.
